Best brisket we’ve had in years. Huge portions. Great beer selection. Happened to pop in on a Saturday night and everything was excellent. Fried pickles and boneless chicken were great too! Will be back to try some wings.
First time there. Overall experience was good. I definitely recommend it. Hot wings-4 star. Fried pickles-4 star. Combo platter was good. Half chicken-4 star. Brisket-4 star. Pulled pork-3 star. The coleslaw was a little dry for my liking-2 star. Sweet potato fries-3 star. Also had a mixed drink called the pain killer-4 star.
Got takeout and it was super quick.
What we got: The Jamaican sandwich, Brisket Dinner w/Mac and cheese & cornbread, cheesy fries, and fried pickles.
What we loved: very delicious. My partner said The Jamaican is the best chicken sandwich he ever had (we are in our 30s and love trying restaurant food, so there's been a lot of chicken sandwiches) and it was huge. Everything tasted amazing and the regular fries were great, along with the fried pickles. You get a ton of brisket and I was full halfway through the dinner, so even though it's fatty, you get a ton and there's still a lot of meat to eat there. Cornbread was great.
What we didn't like: The cheesy fries are made with real melted cheese and not nacho/liquid cheese. They come in a container where they're packed tightly. They don't just pull apart, you just kinda gotta take a fork to them. I'm not a fan of this kind of cheesy fries, but that is a personal preference. The brisket was extremely oily and very fatty.
Cool little spot I stopped by for lunch. Food was alright. Staff was very friendly. Just my chicken was a little on the dry side
Stopped by for a quick lunch. Place was very busy. We got the brisket Mac and cheese and half Parmesan peppercorn wings and half Coop BBQ wings which were both delicious. Definitely recommend stopping by.
My mom and I were so excited to try one of the newest restaurants in Westborough, The Coop, because of the fabulous Instagram photos and the delicious sounding menu, but we were nothing close to satisfied. We ordered the fry daddy and the chips and dip because we are big fans of wings. Each portion came with only 3 wings each for around $12 . With tip in total we spent $30 on 6 wings… the chicken was so dry and chewy with a ton of fat. We also were missing some of our condiments such as the sour cream for our chips and dip loaded wings. If you are planning on getting any good wings in Westborough with good portions and prices JP’s and the Central House is where it’s at.
How this place isn’t closer to a 5 overall is surprising. GREAT wings, both bone-in and boneless, comparable with Buff’s Pub in Newton. Super friendly staff and vibrant casual atmosphere inside. Good place to grab a meal and a beer. We go here 2-4 times per month, mostly for take-out and highly recommend it.
I live a couple blocks away and have been to the The Coop 5-6 times since it opened last year. I find it a great place to grab a quick snack or beer down town and will continue to stop by. The BBQ is respectable with prices in line with the other restaurants in town. The ribs and chicken are fine; I haven't tried the pulled pork or brisket yet, but their reputation is town is very good. For such a tiny place, they also have a great selection of local craft brews both on tap and in the can. I generally grab the table right up against "the bar" so service is good; I just turn my head and ask for something and someone passes it to me.
